Not Exonerated: 'Okean Elzy' Distances Itself from Culprit of High-Profile Accident in Kyiv.

The Ukrainian band 'Okean Elzy' has stated that the driver who caused the accident in Kyiv has no connection to the band's team. This information was published by the band's representatives on Instagram.
According to the official message from the band, the driver does not work with 'Okean Elzy' and has nothing to do with the band or its management. The band's representatives emphasized that they do not know this person.
The band also explained that the 'staff' bracelet the driver had is given to service employees and contractors working at events in the Sports Palace. Since 'Okean Elzy' concerts are currently taking place there, the bracelet shows the event name 'Okean Elzy. 30 years. That day'.
The band categorically condemned the driver's actions and his subsequent behavior. 'Okean Elzy' demands a transparent investigation of the incident and supports all those affected.
Recall that the accident occurred on October 10 at 21:42 on Saksaganskogo Street, 5 in Kyiv, near Borracho Bar. An SUV Mercedes GLE Coupe drove off the roadway and crashed into a table on the summer terrace, where six people were sitting. Among the injured were the owner of the establishment, his girlfriend, her sister, the bar's administrator, and others. One of the injured, Yana Teranis, producer of the news agency TVLAB, miraculously avoided serious injuries, stepping away from the table just before the collision.
According to witnesses, the driver of the car attempted to 'settle' the situation at the scene immediately after the accident. He showed a 'Okean Elzy staff' bracelet and offered money, claiming to work with the band and that he would be 'covered'. It turned out that the driver works for the owner of the ONE BY ONE brand, Lidiya Smetana, who owns the car. This brand collaborates with 'Okean Elzy' and has created a joint clothing collection for the band's 30th anniversary.
The victims also reported problems with the police at the scene, including a delay in conducting an alcohol test and a lack of proper accident documentation.
