The Cost of Inefficiency: Large-Scale Russian Attacks Require Large-Scale Organizational Responses from Ukraine.

Kharkiv has recently come under attack from 56 Shahed drones. The cost of a SAM system with AI, which automatically targets Shaheds, is $150,000 or 6,226,000 hryvnias at the current exchange rate of 41.5.
In Kharkiv, 150 million hryvnias were spent on the renovation of a lyceum, which was then destroyed by an airstrike. This is only 24 SAM systems with AI. Had that money been saved for the installation of SAM systems, the city could have had 150-200 such systems, significantly enhancing the level of protection against enemy attacks. Given the presence of 200 such installations, the attack by 56 Shaheds could have ended poorly for the enemy side.
A total of 1.3 billion hryvnias was spent on the construction of a bridge in Kyiv — this amount could have been spent on 208 SAM systems with AI. This means that with the city's size of 847 square kilometers, there could be one SAM system installed for every 4 square kilometers.
It is also worth noting that Ukraine spends about 10 billion hryvnias annually on fake city administrations, notably in Mariupol, Melitopol, Sievierodonetsk, and others. This sum is equivalent to 1,606 SAM systems with AI that could be used to protect critical infrastructure in the country, such as power plants, ports, bridges, and other facilities.
A new air defense system called 'Sky Sentinel' has already been developed in Ukraine, which has successfully passed tests in real combat conditions. This automated complex can effectively detect and engage aerial targets from drones to cruise missiles, operating in autonomous mode using artificial intelligence.
The overall context of the news is that Ukraine is actively improving its air defense systems and considering strategic opportunities for using modern technologies to enhance the country's security level. Investing in high-tech defense measures may prove to be an important step in preventing potential threats and helping to maintain safety and stability in the region.
