On Tuesday, July 15, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada supported the Cabinet's initiative to withdraw Ukraine from the Ottawa Convention. This means the suspension of the use of anti-personnel mines in the country.
In his Telegram channel, Member of Parliament
Yaroslav Zheleznyakexplained that the Verkhovna Rada called on the speaker of parliament to immediately sign the adopted law on the termination of Ukraine's participation in the anti-personnel mine convention.
'For Ukraine, the action of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction is terminated. Voted in favor — 299 and 305 for urgent signing', Zheleznyak noted.
Yesterday, possible personnel changes in the government were also announced in the Verkhovna Rada. In particular, several ministers may be removed from their positions, and some departments may be merged.
