The first McDonald's in Transcarpathia opened in Uzhhorod.

Today, April 12, the first McDonald's restaurant opened in Uzhhorod, Transcarpathia. The establishment can accommodate up to 166 visitors and is the first restaurant of this chain in the regional center. This news was reported by the media.

The Director of Development of McDonald's in Ukraine, Vitaliy Stefurak, announced that since the beginning of 2025, the company has opened two restaurants and plans to expand the network by at least 7 establishments by the end of the year. Each new restaurant contributes to the development of the region and supports local communities by increasing tax revenues and creating new jobs. In Uzhhorod, the restaurant will provide jobs for over 80 people.
The opening of the restaurant in Uzhhorod was planned even before 2022, but the process was halted due to the start of Russian aggression and legal issues. Moreover, another McDonald's establishment is soon to open in Mukachevo.
In 2024, one of the largest McDonald's restaurants in Ukraine opened on Vokzalna Square in Kyiv, covering an area of 944 m². It has 193 seating places indoors and 88 on the terrace. It is also equipped with USB ports for charging smartphones.
