Onion prices in Ukraine have risen by 35% and have reached 12-17 UAH per kilogram, reports EastFruit. Over the last week, prices for high-quality onions have exceeded last week's figures. The increase in prices is observed in the segment of high-quality products, while the supply of medium and low quality has significantly decreased.
Currently, onion prices in Ukraine are 16% higher than last year's figures, but analysts believe that such a price increase is not natural. Many farmers are holding back from selling onions from their storage, leading to an additional shortage in the market.
Experts predict that Ukraine may soon become the leader in the region for the highest onion prices. This may also lead to the import of onions into the country earlier than usual.
Remember, you also need to buy such products for the New Year and Christmas.
