Ukraine Showcases New Laser Weapon 'Trident' for the First Time.

Commander of the Drone Forces Vadym Sukharevskyi demonstrated a video of the testing of Ukraine's laser weapon 'Trident' at the conference 'European Defense Industry: Prospects for Cooperation with the Ukrainian Defense Industry'.
According to Sukharevskyi, 'Trident' can destroy strike drones, aerial bombs, cruise and ballistic missiles at a distance of up to 3 km, while helicopters and planes can be targeted from up to 5 km away. Additionally, this weapon blinds Russian drones, cruise missiles, helicopters, and planes at a distance of up to 10 km.
Sukharevskyi also stated that 'Trident' is a unique weapon, and Ukraine is one of the few countries in the world with laser technology. He mentioned that it is already successfully used to shoot down aircraft at an altitude of over 2 km, and efforts are being made to enhance its capabilities further.
We can state that today, Ukraine is, if I am not mistaken, the fifth country in the world that can say it possesses a laser. As of now, we can already shoot down planes at altitudes over two kilometers with this laser, and we are currently working on scaling and strengthening it. It truly works; it really exists.
Vadym Sukharevskyi also recalled that back in February 2025, he reported the presence of laser technologies that can already hit targets at certain altitudes.
Ukraine is actively working on developing its own air defense complex and modern missile system as an important deterrent against 'Oreshnik'.
Analysis
The presentation of the Ukrainian laser weapon 'Trident' by Vadym Sukharevskyi at the 'European Defense Industry' conference indicates progress in Ukrainian military technology and the potential for utilizing high-tech weapons in Ukraine. The statement that Ukraine is becoming one of the first countries in the world to possess laser technology reflects the potential opportunities for enhancing the country's defense capabilities. Such new developments could become key factors in the heightened modern conflict in eastern Ukraine.
