Ukraine has returned 307 defenders from Russia: the exchange of 1000 for 1000 will continue.


Ukraine has brought home 307 captives as a result of the exchange with Russia
On Saturday, May 24, Ukraine, as part of a new stage of exchange with Russia, returned 307 captives home, reported the country's president Volodymyr Zelensky in his Telegram.
According to the president, the exchange took place in the format of 1000 for 1000 and an agreement was reached in Turkey. In just two days of the exchange, 697 people have already been returned, and tomorrow we expect the continuation of this process.
'Another 307 Ukrainian defenders are home. Today is the second day of the exchange in the format of 1000 for 1000, which was agreed upon in Turkey. In these two days, 697 people have already been returned. Tomorrow we expect to continue,' noted the leader of Ukraine.
Furthermore, it was noted that among those returned are soldiers of the Armed Forces, the State Border Guard Service, and the National Guard of Ukraine.
It was also clarified that some of the Ukrainian defenders who returned home had been held captive in Russia since 2022. The youngest released soldier is 25 years old, and the oldest is 61. Unfortunately, some of them have illnesses and injuries.
