Olena's father, Maksym, survived since he was on the floor below, but part of the apartment with the rest of the family collapsed.

A tragic loss for their family
Olena's classmate noted that their family lost 10-year-old Kyrylo, 2-year-old Dmytro, and 2-month-old Uliana. Kyrylo was a 4-D class student at the gymnasium and was fond of reading, exploring the world, and playing football. The coach described him as a cheerful and kind boy who was the team's favorite.
