In Khmelnytskyi, law enforcement uncovered an organized criminal group that, under the guise of a public organization, illegally detained people under coercion. This group, at first glance, appeared to be an organization providing addiction treatment services, but in reality, did not carry out any therapy. All the victims were forcibly detained in a specially equipped facility where money was paid for unprofessional assistance. The organizers face from 5 to 10 years in prison for unlawful imprisonment or kidnapping.
Police in the Khmelnytskyi region found that at the Time of the bust, the "rehabilitation center" held around 40 illegally detained individuals from various regions of the country. The organizers have already been charged with a crime, and investigative actions are ongoing.
