Japanese boxer Iwao Hakamada had charges of mass murder lifted after 46 years. In 1968, he was sentenced to death for the murder of a factory manager, his wife, and two children, as well as the arson of their house. Hakamada spent 46 years on death row until he was released in 2014. In 2011, he was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-awaited death penalty. In 2018, Hakamada's sentence was canceled, but he was not detained due to his advanced age.
Iwao Hakamada was a former professional boxer who fought 29 bouts. In 2014, Ukrainian boxer Arkadiy Kartzan died at the age of 25. He was known as a master of sports of international class in boxing and competed in various competitions in Ukraine and abroad.
