Will the water tariff rise? The President of the Association of Water Utilities made a statement.

Water utilities in Ukraine need an increase in water tariffs
The President of the Association "Ukrvodokanalekologiya" and the Deputy General Director of Kyivvodokanal for Strategic Policy, Dmytro Novytsky, stated that it is necessary to increase water tariffs in Ukraine, as water utilities are on the verge of survival. The last Time water tariffs were set was in 2021, but they were illegally canceled in 2023.
Now water utilities are generally on the verge of survival. This situation (lack of funds) is difficult not only for us but also for our workers, who receive a meager salary of about 13 thousand hryvnias. This not only complicates the financial situation of our workers but also threatens the efficient functioning of the enterprises. This is a big problem.
According to the director of Kyivvodokanal, at present, one cubic meter of purified safe water together with wastewater disposal in Kyiv costs 30 hryvnias. But if the water tariff had not been canceled in 2023, its cost would be 40 hryvnias.
Earlier, the State Statistics Service reported changes in utility service tariffs throughout the year. The highest price increase was for electricity.
The government approved the procedure for recalculating the cost of utility services for the period when they were provided not fully or improperly. This procedure applies to heating, water, and garbage collection.
