The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga reported that Russia has maintained the same demands and ultimatums for many years, aiming to weaken and make Ukraine defenseless.
Russian demands and ultimatums have remained unchanged for many years. Russia wants to limit the Ukrainian army, its defense capability, military assistance from partners, and block Ukraine's accession to NATO, he noted.
Sybiga pointed out that Russia's rhetoric reveals its true intentions.
All these demands share one common goal: Moscow wants to see a weak and defenseless Ukraine. This is not about NATO or 'security concerns,' the foreign minister said.
According to him, this pertains to Russia's ability to destroy Ukraine, occupy its territories, seize mineral resources, and use its potential for further aggression.
No illusions should be made regarding this, the foreign minister added.
Sybiga emphasized that Moscow's rhetoric has escalated to the level of 2022.
Russia is trying to take advantage of the current geopolitical situation. We see this Russian strategy and will never accept anything that makes Ukraine weak or defenseless, the minister stated.
Sybiga highlighted that a just and stable peace requires 'secured and long-term security guarantees.'
