Surfer Alessandro 'Alo' Slabira caught a record 32-meter wave at the surfing spot Mavericks near Half Moon Bay. This is likely a new world record, surpassing the previous one of 26 meters. This was reported by newsbreak.com
The recognition of the previous world record took 18 months, and it is currently unclear if Slabira actually broke it. Assessing wave height for surfing is complex and contentious. Frank Kiararte, a member of the Mavericks rescue team, noted that the analysis is preliminary.
'This was truly the biggest wave of my life, and that's all that really matters to me right now,' Slabira himself stated.
