Sappers have neutralized tens of thousands of deadly 'gifts' from the Russian Federation.

During the first half of 2025, the demining units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine performed extremely important work. They cleared more than 41 thousand hectares of territories that were liberated from Russian occupation from explosive hazards.
These figures are impressive - equivalent to almost half the area of Kyiv or over 57 thousand standard football fields. Moreover, during this Time, more than 39 thousand hectares of agricultural land were cleared, which accounts for more than 95% of the total area that was possible to demine. The most productive months were found to be January and May.
The work of the deminers also included clearing kilometers of roads, railways, power lines, and pipelines. Ukrainian specialists identified and neutralized dangerous areas near roads, children’s playgrounds, pedestrian paths, and residential areas, as well as numerous explosive items.
Since February 2022, almost half a million demining operations have been carried out in Ukraine, and now there are already more than 100 certified operators of mine action in the country. This indicates the immense capacity and professionalism of Ukrainian sappers.
Ukrainian deminers continue to actively and effectively carry out their dangerous yet extremely important work, ensuring the safety of residents and the restoration of territories that were damaged during military operations.
Every figure and achievement in the field of demining confirms the high professionalism of Ukrainian sappers and their significant contribution to the security and restoration of the country.Read also
