Russia prepares for a new offensive: the military named the cities where the occupiers will go.

The occupying forces of Russia are planning to attack the entire Donetsk region, particularly the Lyman direction. The Russians intend to replenish their reserves. This was reported by the serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kyrylo Sazonov, in an interview with 'Novosti.Live'.

“It will get hot where it has been a bit quieter. This is the Lyman direction. This is a very favorable (for Russia, – ed.) scenario on the map to cut off logistics for the entire Donetsk grouping. Because capturing the main agglomeration of the Donetsk region – Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk – from the south in this order to the north would take 10 years. But cutting logistics to Kharkiv would give them significant advantages,” noted Sazonov.

Russia still desires to occupy the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. However, the Russian forces do not have enough resources for a large-scale attack on multiple fronts, as was the case in 2024.

“They lack resources to simultaneously pressure Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Kupiansk,” said Sazonov. He added that the Russian forces are lacking infantry, particularly stormtroopers.

Earlier, British intelligence reported on the slowdown of the Russian army's advance in Ukraine. Its territorial successes have decreased since the beginning of 2025.

It was also reported that at the end of March, the number of ground attacks increased, but they did not lead to an increase in the pace of advancement.

It is noted that the strike of the Defense Forces on the military base in Engels became the most successful in 2025.
