Rights of Military Servicemen: What Information Can Be Kept Confidential From Military Recruitment Offices.

In connection with the ongoing mobilization in Ukraine, the question of confidentiality arises when communicating with territorial recruitment centers.
Lawyer Olena Andreyeva claims that citizens have the right to privacy in this matter.
She emphasizes that military servicemen should not disclose information about third parties and their personal lives. However, their basic personal data needs to be updated.
'Information about personal data, marital status, and place of work should be communicated to the staff of the territorial recruitment centers for data update or changes,' says Andreyeva.
The lawyer also emphasizes the importance of maintaining confidentiality in cases where familiar persons work at the centers. She stresses that employees must clearly separate personal knowledge about a person from official information.
The lawyer states that information concerning the personal and family life of a specific person cannot be disclosed without their consent.
It is worth noting that the activities of territorial recruitment centers are regulated by the Law of Ukraine 'On Personal Data Protection', which requires obtaining consent from the individual for the processing of their personal data.
Furthermore, Ukrainians are informed about who has the right to check military registration documents and what consequences await those who refuse to accept a summons.
