Talks on Negotiations with Kellogg: Ukraine Wants Peace, but Russia Blocks Ceasefire.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, reported that during his visit to London, the Ukrainian delegation held a series of important meetings with representatives of partner countries. The main topics of discussion were security, the victory strategy, and ways to achieve peace. The minister stated this in his official address on April 24.
Umerov noted that together with Andriy Yermak, the head of the President's Office, and Andriy Sybiga, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, he met with representatives of partner countries, focusing on security issues, the strategy for victory, and the path to peace.
Umerov explained that he discussed with David Lammy and John Healey, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the United Kingdom, the implementation of the historic agreement on a 100-year partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, as well as the next steps to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability.
The minister also emphasized that the Ukrainian side confirmed its commitment to peaceful initiatives, particularly those proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, during talks with advisors on national security from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
'We want to move towards a just and lasting peace based on international law that guarantees the security of our country,' Umerov stressed.
Umerov reported that a meeting took place with the U.S. special envoy, General Keith Kellogg, during which possible scenarios for ending the war were analyzed, and further steps were agreed upon.
The minister also underscored the importance of unity and consistency among partners regarding the end of the war, considering that Russia continues to block even the most basic proposal for a ceasefire.
It should be noted that a meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with U.S. President's special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, took place in London. The delegation included Andriy Sybiga, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rustem Umerov, the Minister of Defense, and Andriy Yermak, the head of the President's Office.
During the negotiations, the Ukrainian side clearly expressed its position on achieving peace, emphasizing the necessity of an immediate, complete, and unconditional ceasefire as the first step towards initiating talks on a just and lasting peace.
The Ukrainian delegation also expressed hope that such a position aligns with the vision of U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the resolution of the conflict, and emphasized Ukraine's principled stance on defending state sovereignty.
