The German government has approved arms and military equipment exports amounting to 13.33 billion euros in 2024. This is the highest figure in the country's history, as reported by Bild, citing a response from the Ministry of Economics to a query from Bundestag Deputy Sevim Dagdelen.
Of this amount, more than half, namely 8.15 billion euros, has been sent to Ukraine with the aim of countering Russian aggression. In December 2024, the German Ministry of Economics published a preliminary assessment of arms export volumes, indicating that 62% of the total export volume was directed specifically to Ukraine.
Among the largest recipients of German arms are Singapore (1.2 billion euros), Algeria (559 million euros), and the USA (almost 299 million euros).
