The Russian army is intensifying its actions in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions

The Russian troops are preparing for assaults in the Orikhiv direction, while in the Huliaipole direction they are attacking the Malynivka area in Zaporizhzhia. This was reported by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, in a comment to 'Suspilne'.

“The activation of actions in Malynivka was preceded by massive artillery preparation in the surrounding settlements and in Malynivka itself. In addition, for several days, the Russian army has struck with unguided aviation rockets. Up to 50 NARs were arriving daily. The Russian Federation attempted to destroy our defensive structures,” the statement said.

According to Voloshyn, the destruction of several positions of the Ukrainian defense forces by the Russian troops complicated further defense. In this regard, the Ukrainian forces retreated to the flanks but maintained control over the settlement. Additionally, the Russian army is strengthening its forces in the Orikhiv direction to assault Mala Tokmachka and Kam'yanske.

“Mala Tokmachka is for bypassing the eastern flank and access to Orikhiv. Kam'yanske is important for controlling the heights in the area and the Kharkiv-Simferopol highway. By capturing Kam'yanske, the Russian Federation will gain access to Zaporizhzhia,” the spokesperson emphasized.
