Youth Lasts Longer: WHO Changes Age Classification.


The World Health Organization has changed the age category for 'youth' from 35 to 45 years. According to the Institute of Demography, this change is related to the aging population and may impact the social policy and pension systems of different countries.
Experts from the World Health Organization and Columbia University have found that the pace of cognitive aging in people has decreased over the last century. This is attributed to improvements in education, healthcare, and diet. Scientists note that younger generations after World War II have better cognitive abilities compared to previous generations.
Studies were conducted in the UK and China as part of the ELSA and CHARLS projects. These projects are aimed at long-term studies of the aging process and cognitive abilities of people aged 60 and older. The research involved more than 26 thousand Chinese and British participants.
In Ivano-Frankivsk, doctors removed a tumor weighing 17 kg from a 57-year-old woman. This information was confirmed by the press service of the Prykarpattia Clinical Oncology Center of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council.
