Moldova strengthens security measures for postal shipments from Ukraine
In Moldova, the civil aviation authority has decided to enhance security measures for postal shipments and cargo from Ukraine. This decision was made after a homemade explosive device was discovered hidden in a toy during a cargo inspection at Chisinau Airport on January 7.
The Aviation Security Risk Management Group in Moldova is implementing additional measures to prevent similar situations and ensure the highest level of safety for air transport. In particular, all postal shipments and cargo from Ukraine are now classified as 'increased risk cargo and mail'.
Terminals will carry out additional strict security control measures for inspecting cargo from Ukraine. These measures will be applied indefinitely.
