The Ministry of Defense returned unsuitable goods worth almost 550 million UAH
In August 2024, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine returned to suppliers for remedying deficiencies almost 230,000 units of goods that did not meet the requirements, amounting to over 550 million hryvnias.
According to the department, this property was not delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to its non-compliance, revealed during the technical inspection phase.
As Deputy Minister of Defense Yuriy Djygyr pointed out, recently, due to changes in Ministry of Defense order No. 375, the implementation of technical inspection of goods at the Joint Supply Centers of the Logistics Command was introduced, instead of at the suppliers' enterprises as it was previously.
"This significantly reduced the risk of substitution of property whose technical inspection was carried out at the suppliers' enterprises," he noted.
According to Yuriy Djygyr, in August, under the current contracts, the Ministry of Defense accepted over 1.5 million units of property from suppliers for a total sum of 1.6 billion hryvnias. The supply was carried out under 84 state contracts.
Since the beginning of 2024, the Central Quality Control Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine accepted over 16 million units of property for a total sum of 11.9 billion hryvnias.
At the same Time, the defense department returned to suppliers 1.8 million units of goods worth 1.6 billion hryvnias for remedying identified inconsistencies.
