The American television channel Fox News and media ally of Donald Trump broadcasted the prayer service of the Russian Patriarch Kirill on Easter. During the lengthy broadcast, viewers were shown several "windows" with parallel broadcasts from different countries. The channel made a gross mistake by labeling Kyiv as part of Russia.

The broadcast of Patriarch Kirill, known for his resolute support for the war in Ukraine, took place alongside images of the Easter Service of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine at the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral.

During the service, Kirill made a number of cynical statements. He called for "establishing a strong and just peace over the vast expanses of historic Rus," as reported by RIA, referring to the medieval territory that included parts of present-day Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia.

"As beautifully said: do not do evil to others and do not treat others as you do not want to be treated yourself," the TASS agency quotes Kirill.

"If people adhered to this festive commandment, life would be quite different: both family and public, and I would say, interstate," said the Russian patriarch.

We remind you, Russia does not cease fire despite the Easter truce, which it itself proposed.

Also, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed Ukrainians with an Easter greeting, emphasizing the unity of the people and faith in the victory of good over evil. In his address, he emphasized that Easter is a symbol of rebirth, hope, and the victory of life.

Analysis:

The American television channel Fox News made a mistake by labeling Kyiv as part of Russia during the broadcast of the service of the Russian Patriarch Kirill. This caused great outrage among the Ukrainian public, as Kyiv is the capital of independent Ukraine. Such mistakes can lead to further conflicts between countries and strengthen Russian propaganda.

Also, during the service, Kirill made cynical statements, claiming that a just peace should be established over historic Rus. As a result, he excluded parts of the territories of Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia, which relate to the modern history of these countries. This reflects his desire to resurrect an empire under the rule of Russia and raises concerns among Ukrainian and Belarusian citizens.
