Part of Ukrainians will lose deferment from mobilization: who is expected to receive summons, military medical commission, and Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainians were informed about which military conscripts will lose their deferment from mobilization.
Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, announced that the government approved a new bill amending the Law 'On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization'. These changes aim to reduce the categories of people exempt from mobilization.
According to the amendments, it is planned to reduce the number of military conscripts who are currently not subject to conscription during mobilization. This particularly concerns students, educational workers, and research staff.
In particular, the right to deferment will be granted to:
- students of professional (vocational-technical) educational institutions and applicants for professional training who commenced their studies before reaching 25 years;
- students of higher education institutions under 25 years of age who are receiving their first educational level and are studying in day or dual form;
- postgraduates and doctors (pharmacists) – interns, resident doctors.
The draft law also provides for the absence of deferment for students from foreign educational institutions who enrolled after February 24, 2022, or who are receiving education for the second Time.
It is also proposed to grant deferment to educational workers who work in state and municipal institutions of extracurricular education.
The right to deferment remains unchanged for:
- scientific, scientific-pedagogical, educational workers of higher education institutions;
- researchers of research institutions and organizations;
- scientific-pedagogical workers of institutions of professional higher education with a scientific degree;
- educational workers of institutions of professional higher education, professional (vocational-technical) education, general secondary and extracurricular education.
Deferment can only be granted to those who work in relevant educational institutions at their main place of employment and not less than 0.75 of the workload.
Marina Bekalo, a legal advisor, also confirmed that the draft law has already been approved by the government and is expected to be registered in the Verkhovna Rada. If the law is passed, then after being signed by the president and published in official sources, it will come into effect.
It is worth noting that earlier Syrskiy determined how many Ukrainians need to be mobilized each month.
