Britain will deport refugees to another country. Parliament passed a controversial decision.
The House of Commons of the United Kingdom supported the bill on deporting refugees to Rwanda. The bill received 313 votes "for" and 269 votes "against". It enshrines in the UK legislation that Rwanda is a safe country for deporting refugees. From this Time, flights to Rwanda will be canceled on a legal basis.
The UK Home Secretary signed a new agreement with Rwanda, which provides for the sending of illegal immigrants to this African country. This new agreement updates the details of the partnership in the field of migration and economic development, in particular, it guarantees that Rwanda will not deport migrants to their home countries.
In November, the UK Supreme Court found the government's previous plan to deport illegal immigrants to Rwanda unlawful. The judges stated that Rwanda is not a safe country for refugees, and therefore such deportation is impossible and unlawful.
The UK's Migration Minister Robert Jenrick resigned over his disagreement with the government's migration policy and the Prime Minister's initiative to resettle migrants to Rwanda.
