Basketball player Volodymyr Konev was taken from the train while heading to Latvia for the match of the Ukrainian national team and delivered to the TCС in Lutsk. The president of the Dnipro club, Valeriy Kondratiev, reported this.

«The Ukrainian basketball championship pauses due to the decisive qualifying matches for EuroBasket-2025. Our players Volodymyr Konev and Daniil Sypalo, with reserved seats, were heading to Latvia for the matches. But for unknown reasons, Konev was removed from the train and brought to the TCС in Lutsk for clarification. I appeal to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Matviy Bidny, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Vadym Hutsait, General Secretary of the FBU, Volodymyr Drabikivskyi, and President of the FBU, Mykhailo Brodsko, asking for help to resolve this situation and allow the player to continue to defend our country's honor on the international stage, just like the football players of the Ukrainian national team and representatives of other teams do,» wrote Kondratiev on Facebook.

The Ukrainian national basketball team will play decisive matches in the qualifiers for EuroBasket-2025 in February. On February 21, they will play against Slovenia, and on February 24 - against Portugal.
